Do I need to download an app or create a new password?

No. We designed Parentalist specifically to combat app fatigue. There is no app store download required, and no new password to remember. You log in securely using your existing Google account, and it's a simple single web page you can bookmark. That's it.

How does Parentalist help with school emails?

Parentalist helps parents organize school and kids activity emails by identifying messages that contain tasks, reminders, deadlines, forms, activities, or appointments, then turning them into clear straightforward parenting tasks. No more scrolling through a massive email just to find out when you need to pack a lunch for a field trip.

Yes. With your permission, Parentalist connects to Gmail and helps convert parenting-related emails into tasks that parents can review and manage in one shared list.

Is Parentalist a shared task list for parents?

Yes. Parentalist creates a shared parenting task list so you and your parenting partner can stay aligned on school deadlines, activities, reminders, and child-specific responsibilities and help share the load. If either of you gets a relevant todo, the other can see it too. If anyone marks it done or deletes it, great job - one less thing to worry about!

Can my partner see my inbox?

No. Parentalist is designed so one parent cannot browse another parent's inbox. Parenting-related information is converted into shared tasks, not exposed as full inbox access.

Does Parentalist store my email content?

No. Email content is never stored. It is processed temporarily in computing memory and only when you request it for task analysis and then immediately discarded. Parentalist stores only the minimal email identifiers needed to prevent duplicate task generation and to provide a handy link back to the original message that only you (not your parenting partner) can see.

How does Parentalist protect sensitive information?

When you connect Gmail, Parentalist uses Google's industry-standard OAuth flow with read-only access. That means Parentalist can look for parenting-related messages, but cannot send, edit, or delete emails. Email content is processed temporarily in compute memory and is not stored but immediately discarded after analysis. Parentalist has also completed Google's Cloud Application Security Assessment at Tier 2, an independent review of security controls for Google user data, following a rigorous security standard developed and administered by the App Defense Alliance (ADA) - an industry consortium led by Google.

Is Parentalist free?

Yep. Parentalist is free for families because we (solo part-time developers and full time parents) just want to stop drowning in school and activity email overload. Admittedly there are a few apps and sites out there trying to do the same thing, but we don't think they're doing a good job. We're continually improving this product and want to get it right.
